RIP Doug Barnhold

Post by McKinney28 » Sat Mar 25, 2017 5:26 pm

As many of you may know, Doug Barnhold passed away on Friday. Doug loved racing and was an avid NASPORT GT-3 participant competing with his “Powder Blue” Nissan 350Z. He and Frank Honsowetz designed and built identical tube frame GT-3 Nissans and went on to be fierce competitors in both GT-3 and NASPORT.

Doug was the owner of “Genesis Engineering” and personally designed and manufactured the Nissan race car bodies we enjoy racing today. If you bought a Nissan race car body through Nissan, it was most likely developed and manufactured by Doug. Doug also designed and produced top-quality carbon fiber wings, one of which is on my GT-3 Nissan 240SX.

Doug will be missed by many. Rest in peace.

From what I was told, Doug was not sick and was in very good health, very active,
and life was good. He died very unexpectedly from a heart attack.

Doug will be missed by many.
